New Delhi 08.02.2020. Alongside showcasing the Vespa Elettrica, Piaggio’s India division has revealed the all-new Aprilia SXR 160 at the second press day of 2020 Auto Expo held at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The company has confirmed that the SXR 160 will be rolled out from Baramati plant in Maharashtra. It is expected to go on sale in the final quarter of this year.
The Aprilia SXR 160 is said to create new benchmark and keeping the budding electric two-wheeler eco-system in mind, Piaggio will introduce electric mobility solutions understanding the needs of the local customers. The Italian manufacturer has confirmed adopting e-mobility solutions over the next half a decade with India being at the core of its strategy.
Multiple architectures are said to be consideration for the domestic market. The all-new Aprilia SXR 160 has been designed in the brand’s home country of Italy, and it has the potential to enter two segments with as many engine capacities. The Aprilia SXR will be retailed in 125 cc and 160 cc engine options that meet BSVI emission standards coming into effect from April 2020.The SXR range will be positioned as the premium offering within the domestic fleet just as other Aprilia scooters and it comes with many features including LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED blinkers, split globe box with USB charging facility, digital instrument cluster and disc brake along with ABS. The Aprilia SXR 160 will be offered in Black, Blue, White and Red paint schemes.
